A feeling of pride engulfs me as I take charge as the Chairman of the Goa Tourism Development Corporation Ltd.   I  hope to utilize  my expertise and experience  on  this opportunity bestowed on me,  to collaborate  with the people of Goa and the rest of the industry  and  create a win-win situation for the benefit of  all . Result-oriented efforts are being taken to ensure that visitors to this wonderful and enchanting State have a truly enjoyable and memorable experience of Goa. Our energies also remaining directed  towards  sustainable tourism measures that will not only promote protect, and preserve the heritage, natural beauty, ecology and environment, but also foster the well being of the visitors with  benefits also accruing to the  local  populace.

Goa with its scenic beauty, its hospitable people, religious and cultural harmony, heritage, architecture, art and culture has already established itself has a popular tourist destination on both the national as well as the international arena, achieving an enviable brand status in the process.  . 

We will carry on with the  efforts of the Government and the industry in promoting Goa across the  globe  not only as a as a great holiday escape  but also as a   holistic health and wellness getaway,  a world class medical health and fitness destination, an adventure and eco-tourism hotspot  and  many more things,  by way of  and increased number of wholesome and interactive promotional campaigns, road shows,  tourism related food and cultural festivals and other such activities in India and abroad.  

Over the recent years, the number of local and foreign visitors is reaching record highs.  The pressure on infrastructural facilities in the State has more than doubled.  We therefore intend undertaking several multi-dimensional need based initiatives towards easing these roadblocks.  Top priority is being given to upgradation of safety and security initiatives with additional emphasis on revitalizing beach safety at all the popular and crowded beaches with the introduction of state-of- the- art monitoring system, lifesaving techniques and technology.    Upgradation of basic sanitation facilities, changing and rest rooms, creation of approach roads, improving lighting, visibility, parking and other such facilities,  in addition to effective security measures are also  being introduced  in our attempts to make the existing areas of tourist importance as well as the   hinterland and other places of historical, ecological  interest more attractive and accessible.

There is more.  Creating better national and international accessibility, world class infra-structural   travel and transport connectivity, telecom, internet and other allied services, co-ordination with the various agencies involved in the tourism and travel trade to ensure smoother functioning of the industry are also top priority.

And while we remain dedicated and strive to give our visitors the best of Goa for that unique and memorable experience, we also  look forward to your suggestions, co-operation and good wishes in  preserving  the  natural beauty,  peace and tranquility of this Paradise called Goa.
