Springs of Goa

Boca de Vaca

It was a crucial source of water in the old days. Boca de Vaca lies next to the much frequented Mahalaxmi temple in Panjim. It has a tunnel inside, and its name means ‘mouth of a cow’. The architecture dates to the Portuguese era.

Pomburpa

Pomburpa is a picturesque hamlet located on the fringes of Bardez taluka. Augusto Mathias Pinto e Joaquim Vincente Pinto de Olaulim developed the spring in 1915. The Tourism Department restored it to refreshing new life. It is a popular picnic spot in the summer and the natural spring is surrounded by areca nut plantations. The modern landscape has manicured lawns and changing rooms. Water is known for its medicinal properties.
