Cleanliness drive held at Colva Beach marks Day 9 of Paryatan Parv in Goa

Paryatan Parv, day 9 activity, Hygiene awareness among tourists, street food vendors, other unorganized sector stakeholders was carried out today as a part of Paryatan Parv 2018 celebration. The activity held today wasa grand success with huge participation from students of IHM, officials from India Tourism, Goa Tourism, tourism stakeholders along with tourists. Colva beach is an ideal destination for such a drive as it is visited by a number of tourists everyday and has also been identified by the Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India as one of the sites for development under the iconic beach site development project.
Students of IHM and officials of India Tourism & Goa Tourism undertook the massive cleanliness drive which was messaged in a very good manner to the public, street vendors and tourists where they were informed about the need and importance of hygiene.

Yet another honor for Goa at the National Tourism Awards: Presented Prestigious Award for Comprehensive Development of Tourism (Rest of India)
Goa achieves yet another milestone at the National Tourism Awards held in the national capital today bagging the prestigious national tourism award in the category of Comprehensive Development of Tourism (Rest of India) for the year 2016-17. The award was presented by the Hon’ble Union Minister for Tourism, Mr. Alphons Kannanthanam and was received by the Hon’ble Minister for Tourism, Govt. of Goa, Mr. Manohar Ajgaonkar along with Managing Director of GTDC, Mr. Nikhil Desai in the distinguished presence of Secretary Tourism, Govt. of India, Ms Rashmi Verma (IAS).
This is the second year in a row that Goa has bagged a prestigious National Tourism Award. This is also the second time Goa is bagging an NTA in the category of Comprehensive Development of Tourism (Rest of India).

GTDC's Monsoon Trekking Expedition to Naneli Waterfalls on 9th September 2018

One has to trek 3 kilometers to reach Naneli village that leads to the majestic waterfall. The trek is easy with a total of 6 kms of walking both ways. The bus journey one way from Panjim to Valpoi is 7 kms one way.
The trekking expedition is open to all especially those with a spirit for adventure and nature lovers.
Transport arrangements have been made from Margao and Mapusa Residency at 7:30 a.m. and from Paryatan Bhavan, Patto, Panjim at 8.30 a.m. On the way pick up arrangements are available at Old Goa, Banasthari and Sankhali healthcentre.
Registration fee is Rs 800/ inclusive of food.
Interested trekkers are requested to carry along an extra pair of clothes, rainwear, trekking shoes, snacks and binoculars. No smoking and consumption of alcohol will be permitted.
Packed lunch will be provided.
